i think elegance is understated glamour, sophisticated but unencumbered, and loveliness incarnate.
Elegance is a characteristic of the heart and the mind. It’s the way a person moves and talks and responds to others. Best acquired at a young age through example, it cannot be put on like a wardrobe. You can dress an elegant person in rags, and they retain their elegance. You can dress a clod in finery and the remain a clod. It’s hard to define, but easy to spot. You simply know when you are in the presence of an elegant person.

Elegance to me; is the girl in the red Valentino dress to a "Black and White" party. Shes light and deep. Beautiful and intimidating, with a glass of Crystal in the right hand :)
